Olivia (Jennifer Aniston), Jane (Frances McDormand), Frannie (Joan Cusack) and Christine (Catherine Keener) are no longer certain how to reach out to each other through their less-than-perfect marriages, demanding careers and hectic daily lives. And, as the title implies, the women also begin to realize how much money �?whether their own, their husband’s, or somebody else’s �?insinuates itself into the most intimate corners of their identities and begins to drive them all a bit crazy, especially Olivia because she happens to be the one friend without money. Still obsessed with a long-ago affair and directionless, Olivia works as a maid. While the others joke about spending hundreds of dollars on a dress, Olivia hoards free cosmetic samples. Their shared concern about Olivia, however, prompts Jane, Frannie and Christine to reexamine their own relationships, and to the lifestyles that they have grown accustomed to.

FRIENDS WITH MONEY is a film about the unexpected challenges of being an adult - taking responsibility for your place in the world, confronting complex issues with friends and lovers, and learning how to care for yourself.
