AUTHOR PANEL The Modern Woman Unbound On March 3rd 2002, WET sponsored a panel discussion entitled "The Modern Woman Unbound" following the evening performance of "Scab". The panel focussed on what it means to be a successful modern women giving back to the community in today's creative climate. Piper Weiss, East Coast editor of Backstage.com moderated, and the following five prominent women writers participated: Beth Harpaz, author of "The Girls in the Van," (behind the scenes with Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail before her election), Nicola Kraus and Emma Mclaughlin, authors of "The Nanny Diaries" (they live in New York and no longer work as nannies), Corey Schmidt, author of "Talking Pictures" (her first novel, she was also the merchandizing manager for Rosie Magazine) and Amy Sohn, author of "Run Catch Kiss" (a contributing editor at New York magazine where she writes the 'Naked City' column, a series of profiles of Manhattan sex lives). |
