Born in New York, Sabine Singh grew up in an environment full of acting, dance and theatre as well as a latitude of cultural diversity. With a father born and raised in India, and a mother raised in Austria, Sabine took to the love of language, biracial ancestry and a creative passion to explore communication through the arts. Before graduating from NYU's Tisch School of Arts, Sabine attended The University of Michigan, as well as The British American Drama Academy in London. To further her education Sabine also studied Shakespeare at the prestigious Balliol College at the University of Oxford. At NYU, Sabine collaborated with the celebrated playwright, Mac Wellman, which led to her becoming an original founding company member of Jim Simpson's and Mac Wellman's award winning The Flea Theater in NYC. Sabine was one of the first "Bats", the Obie Award winning resident acting troupe of The Flea, primarily presenting new and experimental American voices of the downtown NY theatre world. TV credits include guest and recurring roles on "The Sopranos," "Las Vegas" "Law and Order" "CSI" and as Yasmine Sarong, a role specifically created for Sabine by Steven Colbert and Paul Dinello for their cult favorite television show, "Strangers With Candy". Last year Sabine filmed more than 170 episodes of "All My Children" playing the love-to-hate character Greenlee Smythe. Her performance shortlisted her for the daytime Emmy Award as well as won her Daytime Confidentials 2007 top newcomer award. Sabine just returned from the Caribbean where she is in the middle of filming a luxury travel show. Sabine will spend the winter traveling and exploring the lifestyles and cultures of various Caribbean destinations including Jamaica, Aruba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. Before Jamaica Sabine signed on as the face of Baccardi's Bombay Sapphire Gin, acting as a spokesperson for the brand. In the spring Sabine will fulfill a lifelong dream, hosting an 8 part documentary series in Kenya. "Humanity Can" will embrace racial diversity while encouraging individuals to empower themselves therefore empowering the world around them through volunteer and charity work. Her interests include The Art of Living, and the International Association of Human Values, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and The Dalai Lama. Both AOL and IAHV encourage people from all backgrounds, religions, and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service, encouraging the practice of human values in everyday life as well as restoring peace on the planet. Recently Sabine was honored when asked to represent the Art of Living as a youth teacher. She will begin her teacher training and mentoring high school students this summer. Her book "She Went Blue Star" (to be published 2010) is currently being optioned with the intentions to develop a feature length film.
