Tony Award winner JOHN LLOYD YOUNG just completed a workshop of the new play, THE TIN PAN ALLEY RAG for Roundabout Theatre Company, as a 28-year-old Irving Berlin. For his Broadway debut as “Frankie Valli” in the original cast of JERSEY BOYS, Young won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards, was honored with a caricature at Sardi’s and was named “Person of the Week” by ABC World News Tonight. He can be heard as lead-singer Valli on the Grammy-winning Original Cast Recording. Before JERSEY BOYS, Young was an actor in plays in and around New York, including Julia Jordan’s THE SUMMER OF THE SWANS, directed by Joe Calarco, Rinne Groff’s FIVE HYSTERICAL GIRLS THEOREM for Obie-winning Target Margin Theatre, “Danny Saunders” in Chaim Potok and Aaron Posner’s THE CHOSEN (named one of 2004’s Best Featured Actors in a Play, NJ Star-Ledger), and Michael Healey’s THE DRAWER BOY, with John Mahoney. Young has performed at Carnegie Hall, the White House, New Year's Eve in Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, the New York City Marathon, Yankee Stadium, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, McCarter Theatre Center, Kennedy Center and New York's Town Hall.
