Azizah Rowen (Producer/Actress sag/aea)

A founding member of the critically acclaimed Workshop 360 theatre company in Los Angeles, Azizah is a producer and actress who has worked in theatre, print, television and film. Notable theatre companies include the American Conservatory Theatre, The Magic Theatre, The Blank Theatre Company, The Electric Lodge, and The Odyssey Theatre to name a few. (For more www.azizahhayesrowen.com) She recently finished working as a mentor with the Young Storytellers Foundation in Los Angeles, a program that helps students imagine and develop their own short screenplay followed by a performance of their work with professional actors, and also served as a mentor working with Aviva Family and Children’s Services, creating an outreach program with Workshop 360 that taught teenage girls with emotional and behavioral problems a beginners course in acting and writing.
Azizah has also worked in casting for Fox, Further Films and Blow Up Pictures: intern casting credits with Jeanne McCarthy, Juel Bestrop and Blythe Cappello include Lovely and Amazing (written by Nicole Holofcener), One Night at McCool’s, and Dr. Dolittle 2.
Azizah received her BA in Theatre from USC. She has also studied at 2100 Square Feet in Los Angeles, The Groundlings in Los Angeles, RADA in London, The Barrow Group in New York, Atlantic Acting School in New York, and The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. She splits her time between Los Angeles and New York, and has recently co-founded Ankin/Rowen Productions based in Manhattan (www.ankinrowen.com). They are currently in development for the world premiere of a play, which will open in the fall of 2008 in New York City.
