Annie McNamara

Annie McNamara has been a member of Elevator Repair Service since 2004.  She plays Catherine in GATZ, a verbatim adaptation of The Great Gatsby.  The company has been in residence at New York Theatre Workshop this past year, creating THE SOUND AND THE FURY (April Seventh, 1928), which is based on the first chapter of William Faulkner’s novel.  Annie is also a Clubbed Thumb Associated Artist.  With that company, she performed in Sheila Callaghan’s CRUMBLE, Kate Ryan’s DESIGN YOUR KITCHEN, Gina Gionfriddo’s U.S. DRAG and acted as Assistant Director to Ken Rus Schmoll on Erin Courtney’s DEMON BABY.  Other credits include: Jenny Schwartz’s GOD’S EAR (dir. Anne Kauffman), PORT AUTHORITY THROW DOWN & GIRL BLOG (Culture Project), WATERBORN (Ensemble Studio Theatre), NOVEL (SPF), CAUSE FOR ALARM (NY Fringe) & PROOF (WHAT).  Annie studied acing with Maggie Flanigan at The William Esper Studio, and she holds a Masters in English Lit. from Brown University.
